Delivery Policy
1. Delivery Areas
Ideal Furnitures provides furniture delivery throughout New Zealand, including both the North Island and South Island. Delivery availability may vary depending on your location and the accessibility of freight services in certain remote or rural areas.
Some remote locations may require additional delivery time or special freight arrangements.
2. Delivery Timeframes
We aim to process and dispatch all orders as quickly as possible.
Estimated delivery timeframes are:
- Auckland: Approximately 2–5 working days
- North Island (outside Auckland): Approximately 5–10 working days
- South Island: Approximately 1–3 weeks
Delivery times may vary depending on:
- Product availability
- Warehouse transfer requirements
- Weather conditions
- Public holidays
- Freight carrier schedules
- Rural delivery locations
Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates only and may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our control.

3. Shipping Costs
3.1 Automatic Shipping Calculation
Our website includes an automatic shipping calculator. Simply add your selected furniture items to the cart and enter your delivery address at checkout to view the estimated shipping cost before payment.
3.2 Areas Not Yet Supported by the System
Our automated freight system does not currently cover all areas of New Zealand. If shipping charges do not appear after entering your address, your area may not yet be included in our system.
Please contact our sales team for a manual freight quote and assistance with completing your order.
4. Rural Delivery
We can arrange delivery to many rural areas throughout New Zealand.
If your address is serviceable, the delivery fee will automatically appear during checkout. If no delivery fee is displayed, please contact us for confirmation, as some rural or remote locations may not currently be supported by our freight providers.
Additional rural delivery charges and extended delivery timeframes may apply.
5. Warehouse Transfers & Order Preparation
Many of our furniture products are stored in external warehouses. Depending on product type and order quantity, warehouse transfers and order preparation may take approximately 2–7 working days before dispatch.
During busy periods or for large furniture orders, additional preparation time may occasionally be required.
6. Click & Collect
We offer Click & Collect services from our Auckland showroom.

7. Delivery Access Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that purchased furniture can safely fit through:
- Doorways
- Hallways
- Staircases
- Elevators
- Apartment access areas
Before purchasing, we strongly recommend measuring all access areas carefully to ensure the furniture can be delivered safely into your property.
If delivery cannot be completed due to:
- Incorrect access information
- Insufficient space
- Unreported stairs or access restrictions
- Customer refusal upon delivery
additional delivery, return, handling, storage, or redelivery charges may apply.
Please note:
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable once delivery has been attempted.
- Returned products may be subject to a restocking or handling fee of up to 20% of the purchase price.
- Return freight costs may also apply.
- Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
8. Damaged Goods Procedure
We take great care in packaging and handling all furniture products to minimise the risk of transit damage.
Upon receiving your order, please inspect the packaging and products as soon as possible.
If your furniture arrives damaged:
1:Take clear photographs of:
- The packaging
- The damaged area
- The overall product
2:Contact us within 24–48 hours of delivery
3:Provide your order number and damage details
Once your claim has been reviewed, we will work with you to arrange an appropriate resolution, which may include repair, replacement, or other remedies in accordance with New Zealand consumer law.
9. Missed Deliveries & Redelivery Fees
Delivery Attendance
Our delivery team or freight provider will usually contact you before delivery to confirm the delivery timeframe.
If nobody is available to receive or sign for the goods, the delivery may fail and the goods may be returned to the depot or warehouse.
Redelivery Charges
- Additional fees may apply if:
- Delivery appointments are missed
- Access conditions were not disclosed in advance
- Furniture cannot fit through access areas
- Delivery needs to be rescheduled after failed attempts
For large furniture deliveries involving heavy trucks or two-person delivery teams, redelivery charges can vary depending on location and freight provider requirements.
Storage charges imposed by third-party freight companies may also apply where permitted by law.
10. Assembly Information
Some furniture products may require assembly unless otherwise stated on the product page.
Most products include standard assembly instructions. If you require assistance, our team is available to provide guidance and support.
We also offer professional assembly services for selected furniture items at an additional cost.
Please note:
- Assembly service availability varies by region
- Additional delivery or labour charges may apply
- Some assembled furniture may not fit through standard access areas once fully assembled
We currently offer on-site assembly services for selected oversized furniture items in:
- Auckland
- Hamilton
- Tauranga

11. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) Rights
Nothing in this Delivery Policy limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand consumer laws.
If products are damaged, faulty, or incorrectly supplied due to our actions or the actions of our delivery providers, we will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with New Zealand consumer law.
